Zero to the Turks

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Zero to the Turks

Postby Sotos » Fri Oct 17, 2008 2:25 pm

OTTOMAN archives compiled in Cyprus between the sixteenth century and British rule could provide the Turkish Cypriot side with ammunition to counter Greek Cypriot property claims in the north, it was claimed yesterday.

16th century?? Then we will bring to them records from the 15th century that show that Turks in Cyprus were 0%. Fucking Turks, the keep invading us, stealing our lands, importing settlers from Turkey, giving them the lands they stole from us, and then calling those Settlers as "Turkish Cypriots" and make claims on our island!!

Bloody cheek!

The thieving scoundrels.

They'll be moaning to the Mongolians for their claims to the tent pitching areas they left behind next.

Let them bring their archives to show.... what?

The Ottomans took over the feudal lands of Venetians, and only those Venetians who refused to accept the rule of the Sultan. Ownership of anything else was Greek Cypriot. Public lands are not the point of dispute, they went from Britain to the RoC. It is private property we are talking about here and this is pretty well and objectively recorded in the land registry organized by the British in their usual detached manner. Obviously the British figures do not suit the intents of the robber barons of the TRNC and the special kind of "developer" that has evolved in the free for all system.

As Sotos says, the Ottomans had ZERO up until 1570, and then STOLE what belonged to the people of Cyprus so they now owe RENT for the whole of Cyprus for 309 years.

Finally, the Ottomans were crushed early in the 20th century and made to sign everything away in the 1923 Treaty of Lausanne.

Being the last Ottoman remnants, the "Turkish Cypriots" must now pay this rent so I think it’s only fair that all 120,000 odd of them SURRENDER themselves to be used as slave labour for the rest of their lives to pay off this huge debt.

Ottoman archieves or not make no difference. The Land Laws (tenure, registration and valuation) was passed 1st Sept 1946. Known as Cap 224.

Everyting prior to this was governed by the Ottoman rules but since that date the RoC land Law applies.

ECHR claims will be fought on this basis, do you have the title deeds? Yes. Did you own the land immediately prior to the turkish invasion? Yes.

Then its F*** Off Turkey. You just lost again.

As if the ECHR are going to go back 400 years or so.

Come on TCs you are really clutching at straws now.

It is pure nonsense to suggest that any "Ottoman archives " could have the slightest relevance in the legislature governing property ownership in Cyprus. The feeble minded might consider such non entities as relevant but the legality of such claims does not even warrant a discussion. Pure nonsense .
