CHARTER FLIGHTS BETWEEN ITALY AND NORTHERN CYPRUS

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby utu » Fri Oct 17, 2008 1:43 am

The EU had pledged to help the Turkish Cypriots, so if this information is true, then this is something that would fit in that pledge. After all, the RoCy blocking those aid packages meant for the Turkish Cypriots did not win the RoCy any friends internationally.
This policy of "isolation of everything at all costs" is being increasingly seen as vindictive. Allowing such little gestures towards the northern administration might go a long way to depolarizing those elements who seize upon the isolations as justifying a hard-line stance...

I don’t recall any official agreement to “help” Turkish Cypriots based on the outcome of the democratic referendum of 2004.

We need to distinguish between the suggestions of one or two embittered people such as Gunter Verhoigen, who were not pleased with the outcome of the referendum, and what the EU officially votes and approves in writing.

Let the Turkish Cypriots present us with their credible evidence that the EU has approved but not delivered.

GR, the EU pledged to help the Turkish Cypriots as part of the Annan Plan push. The aid packages (which were blocked by RoCy) were promised after the Turkish Cypriots in the north voted 'yes'.

Nothing in the original post indicates these flights are non-stop from Italy to Tymbou, so I don't see that the situation has changed in the slightest.

Suffice to say that since the International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO - does not recognize the legitimacy of Ercan Airport , and further more the "TRNC" is NOT one of the ICAOs' member States the promotion of direct flights from anywhere to Ercan Airport would be contravening the fundamentals of this UN Specialized Agency's' laws governing international civil aviation .

This does not effect charter flights. It only effects scheduled services.

However, flying into Nicosia FIR, even under charter rules is still illegal.

my consern after flying with cta is that they hardly manage the flights they have already. how will they cope with flying to italy as well?
our touchdown in turkey was at gazientepe, passengers got on, but no spare seats were available, they had to get off again.
how hard can it be to know how many seats are taken on your aircraft?

Maybe they have an EFHQ (expected flight harakiri quota) because of the "cta"food.
