President Mehmet Ali Talat has completed his contacts in Istanbul.
The President’s contacts once again were dominated by the Cyprus issue.

Mehmet Ali Talat attended a meeting with the Business Club, organized by the Milliyet Newspaper and came together with some businessmen at the Marmara Hotel.
He also gave a speech on the Cyprus Problem at the Galatasaray University.

and interviewed by various media organizations during his stay in Istanbul.

Ofcourse Talat have to inform public in Turkey and Cyprus .At the end we will have a referandum .Public have to informed ,whats going on .

Also Primer minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer started to village visits to inform public that we will know what we are going to say Yes or No .

The ruling Republican Turkish Party continues to inform the public on the latest foreign and domestic developments.

Party leader and Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer as well as high ranking party officials were in Minarelikoy village today to brief the villagers on the current peace process and other developments.

The CTP officials reaffirmed the party’s determination to work for a solution to the Cyprus Problem.

Speaking to Minarlikoy villagers, CTP-BG leader Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer said that a mutually acceptable settlement must be found to the Cyprus problem.

“A bizonal, bicommunal solution based on the political equality of the two sides must be found”, he added.

Prime Minister Soyer said the attempts made by various circles to bring back anti-settlement policies to the agenda were totally unacceptable.

Noting that a solution to the Cyprus problem carried utmost importance for the Turkish Cypriot people, Mr. Soyer said that people who supported and desired a settlement would not be condemned to the fate of those who oppose a settlement.

‘The policy established jointly by Turkey and the TRNC on the Cyprus issue envisages the creation of a partnership state with a single international identity.

The new partnership will be based on politically equality and will made up of two separate founding states, a Turkish Cypriot founding state and a Greek Cypriot founding state. The state will function on the principles of a Federal Cyprus based on a bizonal, bicommunal order” said Prime Minister Soyer.

Also touching upon economic issues during his visit to Minarelikoy, the Prime Minister pointed to the economic difficulties being experienced in Northern Cyprus and said the situation can only be overcome with the development of the economy.

Also speaking, CTP Deputy Kadri Fellahoglu said that the Cyprus Problem was the most fundamental problem faced in the country and that the government was determined to continue working until a settlement is reached.

Pointing out that no progress has been achieved on a solution for the last 3 years because of the Greek Cypriot Side’s stance; Fellahoglu said that his party was trying to do the best for the Turkish Cypriot people.

Wars are fought on a number of fronts. The political front is important, but this 'war' will continue as long as mistrust and antagonism exists on all sides. There is no shortage of that, I'm afraid...
