When you are trying to heal wounds,DT,and bring about an agreement which might lead to peace, little symbolic acts takes on their own importance,imho...For example the infamous flag on the Pentadaklos is not threatening anyone either,I guess...But if you wake up one day and it is gone, that would be a very positive symbolic act of copmromise or conceliation....Do you agree?????

Bir, you seem to forget we have an army in attack formation that has already taken a large amount of territory from us before, stationed in our capital.

I'd say Nikiforos is not a symbolic act but a downright necessity. Pac-man on Pentadaktylos on the other hand (which manages to make my wife's stomach turn every morning as we head to work and hate the Turkish world that little bit more every day) is not a necessity to anyone and does not place anyone's safety at risk.

This is the world we have reached when an invaded country is holding a defensive exercise to protect itself from further aggression and its equated to an offensive exercise performed by the occupation army and a large flag on its northern mountain range spelling F-U-C-K Y-O-U to 80% of the islands population.

I think we are talking about different things,DT...
Nikiforos might be a necessity...What is symbolic is the cancelation of it for this year, the year of seriously searching a solution...I can't believe that canceling it for one year would really jeopardise the defence capabilities of the NGC...

We all have our ways of looking at things Bir. I can't equate cancelling nikiforos with Taurus or the graffiti on Pendadaktylos. By all means lets look at other practical things we could do. (can you suggest any other Bir that the GC's could do to imrpove the negotiating mood? Cause I can think of plenty the TC's can do.)

I guess the time for "practical" things is gone,unfortunately,DT...
That is why for me symbolic things have taken on special significance....
What I really want to see is Christofias inviting the TCs to return to the 1960 Republic and take their rightful place in the State and the Cosntitution of the ROC...But that is not really practical now ,is it???? :( :(

I wholeheartedly agree with you on that one. I would love to see a TC VP negotiating on the side of the Republic along witht the President.

bloody pacifist wimps.

any men out here?

 What have we here????
