DT,
you are always focusing on one point .

Toros is :research ,secure ,to learn how to survive and commando show exersise not showing the heavy guns or trying to invade some places says presential spokers person Erçakıca and President Talat is very happy that both sides cancelled the exersizes.

wards are taken from below link.

That will explain the F16's flying over my house in Nicosia during the last Taurus exercise Halil. They were using their jet engines to help the commandos light their camp fires on Pendadaktylos.

Give me a break!

37% of it's territory is under occupation and Cyprus is downgrading it's defences. What is the logic in that?

Very defeatist attitude which I have no respect for.

The logic is,Sabre, that currently important negotiations are taking place to find a solution to our little problem, which hopefully will result in the removal of the 40,000 Turkish soldiers from the 37% of the island...That will be the end of the occupation, and reunification of Cyprus...Still see no value in symbolic peace gestures like this????? :(

And why should Cypriots make this concession when these 40,000 troops are illegally on it's territory.

Defence is a critical part of every nation. Without it you lose respect from other allies should you be in a position to ask for any help. Why the hell would other nations come to the island's aid and risk their own sons and daughters when the island can not help itself and adopts a defeatist attitude.

The negotiations are a seperate issue altogether, and Cyprus should not make such stupid concessions to show some good will.

As far as I am concerned, the Nikiforos excercises should go ahead. IT IS NOT ABOUT HAVING AN ABILITY TO WAGE WAR, BUT HAVING THE ABILITY TO DEFEND YOURSELF IF NEEDED.

When you are trying to heal wounds,DT,and bring about an agreement which might lead to peace, little symbolic acts takes on their own importance,imho...For example the infamous flag on the Pentadaklos is not threatening anyone either,I guess...But if you wake up one day and it is gone, that would be a very positive symbolic act of copmromise or conceliation....Do you agree?????

Bir, you seem to forget we have an army in attack formation that has already taken a large amount of territory from us before, stationed in our capital.

I'd say Nikiforos is not a symbolic act but a downright necessity. Pac-man on Pentadaktylos on the other hand (which manages to make my wife's stomach turn every morning as we head to work and hate the Turkish world that little bit more every day) is not a necessity to anyone and does not place anyone's safety at risk.

This is the world we have reached when an invaded country is holding a defensive exercise to protect itself from further aggression and its equated to an offensive exercise performed by the occupation army and a large flag on its northern mountain range spelling F-U-C-K Y-O-U to 80% of the islands population.

Anyone want any clarification on why the Turkish army formation is one of attack I'll be happy to explain millitary formations for beginners.

What important negotiations? The TCs are hell bent on carving up Cyprus to form a mini Turkey and our communist fool is so far playing their game… it’s just as well the Greek Cypriots will never vote for any of the rubbish they’re driveling on about at tax payer’s expense.

I used to feel sorry for communists being persecuted by EOKA in the past but now I see why. If Shit-stofias ever gets re-elected again I’ll eat my keyboard.
