Nikiforos is cancelled

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby DT. » Tue Oct 14, 2008 8:22 am

The entire Nikiforos exercise is centred around repelling an invader. I can see how this is threatening to the 40,000 occupation force.

Presidential spokesman Erçakıca has announced that the Toros military exercise will also be cancelled. I hope this is right, because we could use a bit of good will at the moment.

Sorry, "Presidential spokesman" then. I get a bit tired of these inverted commas, to be honest.

When you are trying to heal wounds,DT,and bring about an agreement which might lead to peace, little symbolic acts takes on their own importance,imho...For example the infamous flag on the Pentadaklos is not threatening anyone either,I guess...But if you wake up one day and it is gone, that would be a very positive symbolic act of copmromise or conceliation....Do you agree?????

DT,
you are always focusing on one point .

Toros is :research ,secure ,to learn how to survive and commando show exersise not showing the heavy guns or trying to invade some places says presential spokers person Erçakıca and President Talat is very happy that both sides cancelled the exersizes.

Cyprus now looks very weak in the eyes of the world.

37% of it's territory is under occupation and Cyprus is downgrading it's defences. What is the logic in that?

Very defeatist attitude which I have no respect for.

The logic is,Sabre, that currently important negotiations are taking place to find a solution to our little problem, which hopefully will result in the removal of the 40,000 Turkish soldiers from the 37% of the island...That will be the end of the occupation, and reunification of Cyprus...Still see no value in symbolic peace gestures like this????? :(
