Ironic that the one thing that can bring Turks closer to Greeks is someone else to hate. :)

Let me guess they are saying the lands belong to them. They want a pissy minority to rule, forgetting that they are still living in the 5th century.

In China they push and push and when they get shoved they complain mistreatment.

Am I right?

The next question is, does the leopard ever changes its spots?

If ever there was a subhuman race it is the slanty eyed power points of asia, fuck off back to a forum where you can learn the basics of living in a civilised society or go back to cooking food in gutters you piece of shit. Leave the cypriot politics to the turks and greeks coz beleive me no one values your opinion.

Be that as it may, a compliment meant from the heart should be firmly lodged in said organ rather than mocked. Life's too bloody short - and a chilled and altruistic outlook tends to lengthen the span.

BirKibrisli .... do you really think the highest compliment you can pay anyone is to call them a "True Cypriot".

Rather bigoted don't you think?

It’s just as well we didn’t send Bir to welcome Desmond Tutu to Cyprus the other day or he’d firmly shake his hand and tell the ex-Bishop (?) what a great Cypriot he is…

Yes the whole world is made up of "Cypriots" and "Non-Cypriots"

Such parochialisms are surely indicative of a real Cypriot

We are not here to selfishly lengthen our life spans .... but to improve the quality and rightfulness of however many years come to pass ....

An unexamined life is not worth living ... To thine own self be true. .... Pay more heed to criticism than compliments ... etc

What more can I say Eric?

But of course. And you can do all of these things and more while making your fellow man or woman feel all warm inside. Cynics need love too, don't they?

How do you distinguish between a realist and a cynic?

Either as a cynic or a realist I cannot say there is anything I need from my fellow man other than kindly co-operation.

Still, better to give than to receive (no disappointments that way  ).

It could be hard to distinguish between them. Are they what they think they are or rather how others see them - which could be as neither? As for the giving and receiving, a bit of both in equal measure arguably makes one more of a whole person. But each to their own.
