Nihao little boy,

have asked permision from your parents for posting in a grown ups forum?

Take the challenge little boy and we will see.

You are nothing but a tight ass. Even if you lose the money its for a good cause, little boy.

Bet just increased to US$400. Time to grow up little boy.

And please do try and say something in English so instead of me guessing your meaning I will get a chance to read it instead.

Reading words with more than two syllables has never come naturally to you ...

Perhaps you should lay off the wine as it is inducing narcolepsy.

Nihao BirKibrisli

Fair comment and I applaud you in trying to engage in a descent discussion.

My personal take on this, its damn wrong.

I would love to know your take as far as Turkey's occupation of Cyprus

Huang

Well...Turkey's occupation of Cyprus is "damn wrong" too,but understandable given our sad and sorry history, geography and international power politics...Do you know what I am talking about,Loony??? :)

In the interests of objectivity, I would like to report back on a little experiment that I conducted. I made an abortive attempt many years ago to learn Mandarin and can still remember a tiny amount of vocabulary and some basic syntax. This, aided by some intelligent Googling which makes it amazingly easy to track down the meaning of basic words and phrases (if you don't believe me, just enter "zhong guo ren" at Google and see), and so I was able to engineer the following dialogue.

I asked our friend Huang Loon, simply by Googling up a site with some simple phrases in Mandarin (this is the miracle of Google - you can instantly access new sites that give you the information you require without having to have them on your list of favourites, or without having ever visited that site before), "Where are you from?"

Huang Loon, nǐ shì nǎguórén?

Our friend Huang Loon, politely inquiring as to me health (Wo hen hao, she she), replied, "I am Chinese. And you?"
Let's face it. This guy can at least write basic Mandarin. Either Oracle has Chinese house guests this week, or this man is for real.

Nihao Tim

wo shi zhong guo ren. ni na?

However, the next post by AWE is rather curious. Huang Loon in his rather evasive answer confesses simply to belonging to the multi-billion Chinese nation and makes no reference to any particular place. However, AWE says, "I know Wuhan. My wife is from Wuhan"

Hi HL,

Wo zhi dao Wuhan. Wo de tai tai shi Wuhan ren.

The latter reply is a little odd, but even so perhaps these people aren't telling porkies after all.

Your English language skills are truly impressive. Did you simply learn English at school in China, or have you studied in an English-speaking country?
