I heard that Stefanis shop had some offers on Laptops...

I also heard that they were referbished or 14 day return items from abroad, sold as new in Cyprus.

I have seen that most of his laptops are open-boxwhen bought - They give you the story "It was open to be checked or to install Greek on windows"

I will let you decide

I have 2 Acers and its a shit quality brand... very flimsy assembly and given the latest research it has big reliability issues.

The refurbished part is true, the most of laptops open is outright wrong. Some are open since they are on display. I really don't get it. How did the story play out in your mind? "Oh Stephanis (a big respectable company in the computer/electronics business) opens up the computers and messes with them (mess with what how?) or takes in used laptops and resells them to us oh no!" I don't understand how some people think nowdays...

When I turn it on it just scrolls coloured screens. I need to log in ESC/password/ENT which causes it to boot up (or whatever the term is) the HD Video chip then comes in and everything works as normal. I assume the integrated video chip on the Motherboard has failed.

But then again, I don't really know what I am talking about :-(

It happened immediately after a MS Update; the model is an Acer Aspire 8935G. It's black, if that helps :-)

Try going to Acer Support ( http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/ ) select your model and download the newest VGA drivers. Update and if that doesnt work tell me :)
