These are the PhDs coming out of Turkish Universities…

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

These are the PhDs coming out of Turkish Universities…

Postby Kifeas » Sat Oct 11, 2008 3:47 pm

Mr. Enver HASANI was born in Mitrovica, Kosovo, on May 10, 1962, and is of Albanian ethnic origin. Here below is a link to his PhD Dissertation, which he submitted and defended at the University of Bilkent in Ankara, on July 2, 2001; as published by National Defence Academy’s Institute for Peace Support and Conflict Management of Vienna, under the title: Self-Determination, Territorial Integrity and International law (ISBN: 3-901328-81-5)

http://www.bmlv.gv.at/pdf_pool/publikationen/hasa03.pdf

There are many “stars” and “diamonds” in this certain Hasani’s "thesis," based on which he was awarded a "PhD" from this certain Turkish “University,” but there is one certainly "worth noting." On page 106 (page 105 of the above PDF file) he makes a footnote with number 194, in which, among others, makes the following astonishing claims:

(194) “The case of Cyprus, not discussed here in details, is from a formal (legal) standpoint very similar to that of today's Bosnia-Herzegovina. …… The solutions for both cases during the crisis in these two countries were based on the above principle. The situation on the ground (he means current situation) though, differs very much. While in the case of Cyprus the areas inhabited by its constituent nations, Greek and Turkish Cypriots respectively, (he means north and south of the 1974 ceasefire line) correspond to the pre-1962 situation, in the case of Bosnia the territories inhabited by its constituent nations were carved up by violent means leading to the commission of crimes against peace and humanity (the Serb and Croat areas respectively). …..”

Now, this person has received a PhD from the said Turkish “University,” based on the above and many more garbage he wrote in this “diatribe.” No wonder then, why the Turkish “Universities” are regarded among the lowest level ones, in terms of educational quality and scientific contribution, in the whole of Europe (and not only.)

I am sorry to shatter your high grade happy smileys Paaul12 and VP, but the rankings you quote are not statistically significant; since Turkey for being 10 X larger than Greece, should really be ahead of even the UK Universities

More meaningful is to look at the achievements of a few individual institutions and if you peruse the list of the World's top Universities, The National Technical University of Athens is ranked at 244 (not bad for a country of about 8 Million ... and which traditionally sends its best students to the American Universities to improve their rankings  ) ... Turkey does not manage to squeeze anything in until position 390 (Middle East Technical Uni) ... by which time Greece has a second one before that (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) 8) ....

http://www.webometrics.info/top4000.asp?offset=200

But good attempt at detraction. The real issues lie with your racist institutions.

Kifeas has posted a significant insight into this seemingly unregulated world of "thesis" thrashings, emerging from "universities" set up on ethnically cleansed lands ... How anyone can look into the immoral abyss of such functions and pretend to achieve higher states of learning I do not know

Oracle, sorry to burst your bubble, but Greece is 11 million, and not just 8 million that you quoted, and Turkey is only 7 times larger than Greece, and not 10 times!
Nevertheless, your observations are very accurate! Turkey, to have been anywhere near comparable to Greece, it should have had at least 14 Universities in the top 500, and 84 ones among the top 1,000, instead of only 3 and 8 respectively. Not only it merely has 3 and 8 in each category, but it doesn't even have 84 Universities all together, so that it would possibly come anywhere near Greece -set aside be comparable.
Furthermore, the fact that little Greece, which is 7 times smaller than Turkey, has at least 2 universities raking higher than any Turkish ones, "speaks volumes" regarding the quality and the standards of education in Kemalistan!

Good try, VP and Paaul, but sorry, you have to drive lots of miles before trying to compare your selves with Greece -set aside any other european country!

PS: And never forget that Homer was not a Greek, but a Turk whose real and actual name was ...Omer ...according to the Kemalist educational “reformists” and “historians!”

 Good Grief!

That's the closest I have ever got to "praise" from Kifeas.

I will watch my numerical accuracy / number massaging in future and perhaps he will give me full approval next time

(Gawd these Cypriot home-grown GCs set high standards!)
