These are the PhDs coming out of Turkish Universities…

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Apologies for mispelling your name in my last post.

Let me be clear what passport do you hold as there is no such thing as a citizen of the world.

Furter more try and board a plane and see how far that will get you.

So please answer the question, a Cypriot or a Turk. can't get any simpler as even a simpleteton will have no problem answering.

Wow Oracle, you choose the geographical aspect of the saying rather than the phylosophical one.

Nihao Oracle,

I was fascinated by the statement and I googled it.

it came back with "I am a citizen of the world."
Diogenes 4th Century B.C.

But you said Socrates said it.

Can you please explain this to me as it is a fascinating statement.

Well you did use it as an answer to a geographical question.

What! .... do you think you transcend the ordinary?

If I asked you what 2 plus 2 equaled would pears or pairs be a mathematical answer or a "philosophical" answer?

Hello Huang

I've always known it as Socrates (my mother has used it a few times) and I have never questioned it, so now I had to Google it to check .... (Diogenes was the one who carried a lamp in order to spot the one honest man .. I have a little statue of him with his lamp and his dog  ).

Sorry it's a Greek / Cypriot thing to spew these things without checking ... but Googling came up with this ...

http://www.worldcitnews.org/cgi/article ... nator.html

So I guess it was Socrates.

Edit:
(I've just spotted a mistake on that ref. It should say 2,400 years ago.)

I'll Google some more.
