It is not ''not'' normal.

I think we all want independence from Turkey

That may be true.(red highlighted bit) But the TCs at the time had decided that they did not wish to be part of the Helleninc kingdom. And that was what I was responding to.

I believe the Turkish speaking Cypriot community have to accept themselves as minorities.

If democracy is ever given a chance for the whole of Cyprus, “minorities”/”majorities” will eventually fade into obscurity as there will be one set of rules for all (rights & obligations) so you can’t go wrong.

Everyone will be too busy with education, employment, housing, healthcare, sports, etc, to worry about communities. It’s all this “community” shit that’s ruined Cyprus.

So when the GCs take power and control the whole island passing laws that effect TCs more negatively than GCs who will be running around fighting for their rights? Who will step in when GCs the majority do not employ my child not becuase they are not educated or unable to work in the local government poisitons but becuase they are TCs? GCs are experts at making excuses and wriggling out of responsiblity, manipulating laws and wordings to suit whom they want. These are genuine fears and not a future I want for my children.

How can you pass a specific law solely for a group of citizens based on ethnic background under an EU democracy? Impossible!

An EU democracy LOCKS YOU into uniformity and that's what I love about it.
