Bill to allow vote for Turkish Cypriots in south

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

We just opened a Secondary school which there are more teachers than students. You haven't even opened a Turkish school YET (even in south there had been a lot of discussion about it), although your government claims it also represents Turkish Cypriots. Shocked

It's like a soap opera in this forum, isn't it? People distorting truths and trying to get back you at any cost....anyway, at least it's fun to read.

Not exactly I call this a soap opera. It is more like a "sit com".

Prediction: We will be turning to that 1960 constitution, as it is with everything including guarantee agreements, after a some sort of global property exchange mechanism is put into place. Many TCs will have to give up a lot of land, and settlers will become in limbo as most probably majority of them will be given permanent residency short of citizenship (but they will loose the properties they currently hold.) There will not be a GC state or a TC state but a north Cyprus which is predominantly TC and south Cyprus which is predominantly GC. Get ready for the shockers. And all this will probably will take place in the next 3-5 years.

well if they do return to the 1960 agreements and since it will have some things changed such as bi-zonal federation, settlers, etc.,then im sure there can also be amendments to the guranteror and intervention agreements.

i thought by you stating a north and a south cyprus predominatly g/c and t/c you were refering to bi-zonal.tough sell on the property however the g/c hold it close to heart the property issue.

Thanks

Annan plan #5 with a possible exception that refugees might get more in compensation but thats about it.

I think going back to RoC is very far. Nobody talks about it in TC society and it'll be hard for TCs to accept something that had been considered a GC republic for so many years. Many TCs expect a new federation. Even during the negotiations for Annan plan, there was a huge deal about if the new state of affairs is continuation of the RoC or if it's virgin birth. Many TCs were uneasy with the idea that the United Cyprus would be considered continuation of the RoC rather than a virgin birth. This shows how sensitive majority of TCs is in terms of accepting RoC.

I also think that we'll have a new form of Annan plan that will be more geared towards GCs. The question is: will TCs accept such a plan? If not, what will that mean for the island?
