Mr Detailer,

I am proud of my countries history, and in particular it's struggle for independance against British colonialism. I am referring to the struggle EOKA had made against the British between 1955 and 1959.

My father's cousin was the famous Pallikaridis that was sent to the gallows by the British.

So why this island belongs to greece?

Not every little part of land is inhabited in Asia Minor , right? Why Asia Minor belongs to the Turks?

Was there a war between greeks and turksish for that island which greeks won? NO

Typical from a barbarian: To own something means to take it from somebody else with a war

If you let Greece have 12 miles, as someone else said, Turkish citizens will need passports and visas to swim, let alone ships and planes.

Turkey will also get 12 miles (or split the difference in middle). Do you need more than 12 miles to swim? Even if you wanted, why should I care? It is like a Spanish living near the borders with Portugal and claims that he wants to take part of Portugal because the border is too close to his home!!

"Not every little part of land is inhabited in Asia Minor , right? Why Asia Minor belongs to the Turks?"

Again mixing oranges and apples, There were many greeks living in Turkey and many Turkish living in Greece. Why selanik belongs to Greece?

This islands situation is exceptional. That's what I was trying to explain to brain-washed people but it seems impossible.

I am just trying to find out any small reason for the favor of Greece to have this island. whatever I say you will find it barbarian anyway

No Greeks or anybody are living there!

It is much closer to Turkey!

It is very small but if Greece make it 12 miles people in south west Turkey will need visa for swimming!

I am saying that this island was given to Greece just because of that.
THE PROBLEM HERE IS POLITICAL.

"Turkey will also get 12 miles (or split the difference in middle). Do you need more than 12 miles to swim? Even if you wanted, why should I care? Go on with this mind dont care about the rights of your neighbours!

That's was Nicos Sapmson was thinking the same thing when the coupe came here. You are never satisfied. that's we always see blood in this place.

This independence thing is a nicely packaged bullshit.

You didnt want independence . you wanted ENOSIS. The first barrier was english and second was turkish living in the island.

Makarios was saying "our business is not finished yet" in 1960. What was the next step then? Anyway, at least you are not proud of 60-74. I hope you dont change your mind.

Are you serious? There are many Greek islands that are less than 12 miles away than Turkish coast, and if Greece declares 12 miles, then most of the Turkish coasts will be Greek territory! That's what means with 12 miles. This international treaty cannot be applied to Greece and Turkey because it will be on the advantage of Greece not Turkey. Turkey has its own security concerns regarding this issue! If we are going to get 12 miles too, why are we so against it?

Correct me if I am wrong but I think it was the other way round.Greece said they want to go to International courts and Turkey refused.
Can the Greek or Turkish members of this forum tell us what is the truth?

LOL a little compicated. But what I know is that. Both Turkey and Greece want to go International courts and both dont want to go. When one of them is right she want to go. wrong she dont :)
So cant follow who want to go or not :P
