Greek-Writen Cyprus Problem Article

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby suetoniuspaulinus » Tue May 17, 2005 8:29 pm

Mr Magikthrill

It may come sooner than you think

So much progress has been made over the last five years. I am totally against the affect it is having on the environment of KKTC BUT the political progress that both Turkey and KKTC has made is very substantial.

Especially since the GC's are not too bright themselves.( Govt. I mean)

BUT we have to beat them at their own game of propoganda or "marketing"if you like but it will be hard because the Grek/ Greek Cypriot lobby in Europe and America is very professional and very powerful. NOW we need to make the most for ourselves by encouraging and perhaps even trying to get the funding to enable more TC's in RoC to sue govt. One gentleman received 3.500 Euros for not being able to vote.

Thing are looking up for the first time in years for the North.

We have to make hay while the sun shines

You have to live in the south to claim your property back.

Tourkophagos,

You said the prophet of Islam had 9 year old wives, and that Islam promotes pedophilia (making sex with children). Can you support your arguments?

Correct me if I am wrong but I think when those 12 miles overlap the 12 miles of another country the teritorial waters are divided in the middle. If for example a Greek island is 10 miles away from Turkey then the teritorial waters are 5 away from Turkey and 5 away from that Greek island.

Of course we all know the big fuss is for the oil in the Aegean...

The problem Turkey has with the 12 mile zone is that the islands in the Aegean are in such a way as to preclude Turkey from gaining unhindered access to the central Aegean region, much of which is international waters. However, shipping is guaranteed by treaty to have acces to the Aegean sea. If anybody is being expansionist here it is Turkey. Greece is simply upholding her legal rights under international law. I do not see what is provocative about that.
