In 1969 I took part in the Daily Mail Transatlantic Air Race and held the round trip elapsed time record of 16H20M from the Post Office Tower to the Empire State Building and back using cars, scheduled flights and Triang push scooters.

I was late for school on the Monday morning and when I explained there were traffic problems in New York I was promptly given detention!!!! I go out of it when the teacher found out I was telling the truth.

Here its mine folks , in 1963 I was the South London Twist Champion , an event I won along with my partner a beautiful blond girl at the Streatham Locarno !! Our photos were prominently displayed in the foyer and I did not have to pay an entrance fee !! I have to embarrassingly admit that I became quite popular with the girls and could dance with any girl that I chose , and that is when I met my wife !! So she didn't really fancy me just my " twisting " skills !!!
What happened to the beautiful blond ? After meeting my future wife she , the blond , didn't somehow look as stunning as I thought she were !!!
ps.The competition was shown live on the "Come Dancing Show " !!!!
