Then after you've waited your 6 months you see a junior doctor who's been on the job only a few months because the consultant's on a conference somewhere? The NHS here is now known to be in crisis, and one of the worst healthcare systems in Europe. This isn't my opinion, it's on the news every night of the week. People have to go to France or Germany to get their hip replacements and many others are dying on the waiting list for cardiac bypass. Speak to any one of your friends or family members about the health service or social services. One of the biggest current affairs in the UK is the number of children who have been murdered by their own families while social services did nothing! It's not my opinion, read the papers, watch the news, talk to people you know who still live in the UK if you don't believe me. I love this country and its people, but we're sufferering from injudicial immigration polices, over-crowding and the appalling new labour government. Every day another bank or high-street chain goes under and people are losing their jobs and houses by the droves. Talk to people living in the UK about these issues and then tell me I'm exaggerating!

I used to go to my local GP in the 70s and have to wait for hours in surgery whilst his back door was going ten to the dozen for his private patients...If he was in at all that is from playing golf....Now the bastards are working for a living...

I have now been under the hospital for over twenty years and although there have been a few cock ups they have looked after me pretty well. I am under the Royal Brompton now and the cue for checking in was constant work for three people...I was there a total of five hours for various tests that I was glad to get it over with in one day...

In Turkey a few years ago...Three of us came down with bad colds....The doctor came to the hotel and checked us out....The prescriptions were delivered to our room all for £90.......

So what's your opinion on it then? I meant Britain not coke- I'm not into drugs, maybe if I were though I'd post something more optimistic. From now on I'll try to be glass half full instead of half empty!

Much as I hate to admit this, I have to agree with zan (he will probably change his mind now).

When I was back in the UK for a while a few years ago, I developed a very bad chest infection and the NHS did every test imaginable over a 2 year period until they finally decided there was nothing really wrong with me.

Very little waiting for tests (Scans, bronchoscopies, X-rays, all sorts of stuff), I was most impressed.

I wouldn't tell anyone that you were going to pass it on to someone else, you might be involved in a conspiracy to sell illegally purchased property.

Here are the other Europeans (along with Greece and Cyprus):

France, Denmark, Belgium, The Netherlands, Norway, (Italy post '44), Ireland, Wales, Scotland, European Russia ...

(We won't bring up the rest of the Nations  )

This is hardly most the MOST of Europe , helping the Brits, to which
you referred.

Having read some of your comments on the forum I am not surprised that despite you living in Scotland you are apparently unaware that Wales and Scotland are part of Britain.

This leaves the list somewhat shortened. Taking off Ireland which was neutral reduces it further.
Belgium I agree with but Norway, Holland and Denmark were not liberated until a few days before the end of the war although though they did have brave resistance members.
The Free French were certainly a strong force.
You missed out Malta.

Russia which had assisted Nazi Germany militarily against Britain
was certainly very much involved but only after it was invaded by Germany.
