Pineapple melons?? :?

No. They are the Cypriot , yellow melons with a lovely aroma. The skin has 'veins' on it. You must have had them in Cyprus. I dont know if the GC have a different name for it. In Turkish we just call them 'Ananas'. Funny enough we also use the same word for Pineapple too.

I've had them and yes they're really nice, I was informed that we call them honey melons in the UK but I'm not sure

Honeydew melons are totally different. I am fairly certain that D is talking about cantaloupes!

From his description they are the ones I had in May when I was in Cyprus. You could be right about the name, after all I'm just a man who doesn't really worry about the name of things, I just eat them :)
