Oracle dear, I remember you posting a while back that you often went swimming to cool down. I bet my honeysuckle, you are one of those brits with a swimming pool. Then you would be a hypocrite.

Then I do agree with you that pools should be banned anywhere near the coast.(if not all over the island).

I am a sea swimmer and would rather abstain than swim in a cocktail of uric acid, chlorine, dead skin cells and other unidentified organic matter ...

Chemicals in pools linked to miscarriages

CHEMICALS found in swimming pools cause a reaction that might increase the risk of miscarriages, researchers say today.

They believe that regular swimming could prove to be the "major" way in which pregnant women take in chemical by-products that have been associated with cancer, miscarriage, low birthweight, some birth defects and urinary tract infections.

Fortunately I am extremely unlikely to suffer a miscarriage so I shall continue to swim in mine…

Now you are being selective ..... chlorine reacts to form by-products with the organic matter and these can increase the risk of cancer.

Don't dip into this lethal mixture

Chlorine wil also breakdown organic matter.

If you dig deep enough you will fid that , and if we manage to live lng enough, we will all die of cancer. Damn it.!!!

I don't think so... the ones I haven't rescued in the past from the same pool have made a good display of drowning and bloating...
