GC and TC propaganda/PR abroad

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby negotiator » Sat May 21, 2005 12:05 pm

Excuse me i live in Palmers green and have done so for the past 15 years, I was educated in Winchmore Hill. So I feel I know the area pretty well! I can safely say that every year there is awalk/demo/ rally what ever you wish to call it on the Saturday before the yearly rally at the embassys in London!

It is advertised in all the local press and clearly states its purpose is to "Get the turks out of Cyprus". This is not propaganda this is FACT!

lol...i've never seen ANY demo in Palmers Green, the saturday before the march for Cyprus. Where in Palmers Green does it start and what time???? This is all new to me and lived here all my life.

Also, the march for Cyprus is CLEARLY for Turkish Troops and Settlers out of Cyprus...not Turkish Cypriots, stop trying to manipulate things. Infact, I've also seen TC here ask for the Turkish Troops and Settlers to leave. So what road in Palmers Green do you live??? (or are you gonna find one on multi map?)

Mr Negotiaotor

I lived in London for a while and while it was true that GC's and TC's
were not close at least they didnt kill each other. This did not however make them friends.

I remember in '74 all the coffee shops in Newington Green had their radios on full blast. When a Turkish plane was shot down ALL the Greeks would cheer
And when a Greek plane was destroyed ALL the Turks cheered;
The communities NEVER integrated. There were a number from both communities who were friends. Indeed the first Greek Orthodox wedding I went to was in Wood Green. But we were the only TC family at this wedding.
(I had been friends with the brides brother for 20 years at that time).

Well done TC's of London for at last organising and showing that you too have a stake in Cyprus

Another question to London GC's

Will TC's who fought in British army alongside your fathers be permitted to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph this year? In previous years this right has been denied to them.

Nice to have some support for the TC in London, we have a voice and we need to start using it, as the GC comrades always love to do.

Mr negotiator

WE NEED YOU

You TC's in London have so much more ability than we have to influence British politicians directly. At all levels.

We need influnce from grass roots level all the way up. Our GC cousins have had it all their own way for too long.

I wish you all, the best of luck and please do not give up. Read the papers and see that we are being taken more seriously every day.

Thank you for your support, it is good to hear encouraging words I must say. It would be nice to have a joint rally in TRNC at the same time to.
