Time to Terminate Talat .....

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Time to Terminate Talat .....

Postby Oracle » Fri Oct 03, 2008 12:45 pm

His recent performance has lacked lustre to say the least. In the wake of our fresh and positive approach, Talat is as outdated as the Tsars!

TCs, it's time to elect a new spokesperson .....

Extracts form Cyprus Mail wrote:

Disappointment at Talat speech

TURKISH Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat’s address to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has sparked a disappointed reaction

Talat’s statements do not help this climate.

Talat listed a litany of grievances to PACE...

Turkish Cypriot leader was more interested in reiterating how his side had been wronged.

Mr Talat never misses the opportunity to repeat his well-known positions surrounding the Cyprus problem ...

Mr Talat usually chooses to remain in the past ...

could only be described as “completely negative”.

Talat attempted through reproaches and referring to the past, to justify unacceptable views regarding a resolution to the Cyprus problem
.

The Turkish Cypriot media yesterday had a completely different take on Talat’s statements in Strasburg, which some described as a “historical speech”.

I guess the TCs know it should be his last ...

Turkish Cypriot daily Afrika also criticised the fact that Talat “spoke in an empty conference hall”, while the Europeans who invited him lacked politeness and interest by not bothering to go and listen to his speech.

And the Europeans no longer care what he has to say!

Time to terminate Talat .... :D

Oracle darling, now you know its not fair to shoot the messenger

After all he was only repeating what he was told to do so.

Given the overwhelming support from PACE to the GC side, I'd say it was time to Terminate Turkey. (TTT) my new acronym or should I have said T3 (T cubed)

Well it's Official from the Council of Europe ... Greece has to play a more active role ...

13. In particular, the Assembly calls upon Greece to use, on the one hand, its traditional ties with the Greek Cypriots, and on the other hand, its experience of building normalised relations with Turkey, in order to facilitate dialogue between the Republic of Cyprus and Turkey.

So let's hope we have no more Turkish complaints about scenes such as this ...

President Mehmet Ali Talat has said that he had very useful contacts in Strasbourg where he met with the Presidents of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights.

The President also delivered a speech at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe explaining the real reasons behind the Cyprus problem and the Turkish Cypriot People’s expectations from the international community.

Speaking on his return to the Republic yesterday, President Talat expressed the hope that his contacts in Strasbourg would lead to positive results.
Pointing out that he delivered a speech at the PACE as the Turkish Cypriot Leader, the President said the visit gave him the opportunity to make the Turkish Cypriot People’s voice heard and to explain the Turkish Cypriot Side’s views regarding the Cyprus Report prepared by the PACE Rapporteur Joachim Hostler.

Mr Talat added that he had once again proved the fact that Turkish and Greek are two official languages used in Cyprus by delivering his speech in Turkish.

Referring to the adoption of a resolution on Cyprus by the PACE, the President said that the resolution, which was taken in the light of the Report, did not please the Turkish Cypriot Side.

‘The resolution is unilateral and brings the past issues back to the agenda. The issue of Greek Cypriot schools in Karpaz was closed after the education provided to Greek Cypriot children in Karpaz were found sufficient. Even this issue has been brought to the agenda again` he said, complaining that the report does not refer to the Turkish Cypriot Side’s demand to open a school in Limasol.

So he presented the TC "side" ... and in Turkish  to prove some point about Cyprus having two Official languages. Well he was not in Cyprus ... he was in the multi-lingual EU; and Turkey is not in the EU so Turkish is not an Official EU language ... so all he managed to do was to diminish his audience.

Why is he moaning that his demands are not being met ? .... perhaps because they are illogical and illegal.

Never mind ... keep him!

I think the Council of Europe have been given a taste of exactly why negotiations have been stalling for so long .... so we are better off having this Muppet talking for you.

I have read the article also. What strikes me is Talat's racism.

I can accept that he has been voted by the TC's to represent them. However a leader of such shortsight cannot bring to people who have a history of hate for one another together. He is incapable of unifying Cyprus and I suggest that if TC's other than Zan and VP who want partition do something about it.

If TC's have a secret agaenda as Turks usually do and partition is what they want they better put it on the table as an option 18:82 becuase thats all we're gonna agree.

That is not even an option though since the Turk spoke at the ECHR because it was clearly stated the ECHR will not accepts two states on the Island because it is one unified country recognised by the EU an entity that Cyrus is a member of and I doubt that Europe will give 1/3 of its territory to any Turk Cypriot or otherwise.

Happy to say you been screwed again.
