So I don't have a problem with any such memorial giving as it will give a focus for the bereaved provided that in its design and wording it was respectful of the feelings of the host nation.

Cys, of all peoples given CY's tragic history, should be sympathetic to others who wish to remember their late loved ones.

Maybe it's time both sides came together to find a way forward rather than leaning towards the past. Great post Bill :D

Excluding the indigenous Turkish population from the right to vote, equal human rights and status within Cyprus and forcing the Turkish population from their homes and land which was theirs by birthright is just as much a crime! Which Turkey responded to! And justly so! Excluding parts of your history and ignoring the facts of the past are why your arguments will never have any credibility!

You've been gossiping with SSBubbles too much and not educating yourself to facts ... enough!

In what way are the recent Invaders the Turks indigenous to this Island?

I won't accept anything less than 5,000 years of history ....

Not even that will do!

Indigenousness implies exclusivity with FIRST CONTACT with a land.

Yet again ignoring the past and only concentrating on 1974. As you are so knowledgeable what lead to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus a small and insignificant island that posed no milltary threat to the Ottoman empire?? There must have been some reason why they chose to invade Cyprus at great political and financial cost, please tell me why they chose to do this?

I must bow to the greater knowledge of Chirokitians on the matter of Neolithic Chirokitia. :)
