You obviously did not read Lena's post. She is capable of destroying anything and everything in her path.  Just kidding Lena

I know you did ... but you are not far from the truth

I send you an email.

Lena, do you use the “Safely Remove Hardware” tool on the taskbar to stop the USB stick prior to removing it, or do you just pull it out?

I have had the same one in my pocket for the last 3 years and no problems with it.

Read Deniz post

Dont ask me...I dont know how I did that (several times) but I did.

The last one I had...it was one of them that is waterproof and has a plastic surface like a rubber ... with the idea that it wont break...guess what...it did...that part that goes in the computer tottally came out.  That one though it was the only one that lasted more than a year.   I said that I dont get along with technology easily. 8)

Best advice,

1. Don't put them in your back pocket and then sit

2. Avoid Nylon knickers to reduce/ minimize static

Good luck!

Just to be doubly safe, keep the USB in your knickers... Image

...and that way the expression "keep your knickers on" will be more meaningful...

The culprit may be your bed Lena. The same thing happened to me too.

If you sit your laptop on your bed and not on a hard surface you may end up putting all the weight of the laptop on the USB device depending on how you position it. Thats what usually causes the USBs to break. Same thing happened to my wireless router on my old laptop.

The same happened to me with my router. Thankfully the manufacturers put the USB ports to the side, which is slightly better.

To be honest i dont think is that...because I take the laptop to bed only to watch a film or play a game...which I dont need the usb...and when i watch films the pc its usually on my desk since I believe that its not good for the pc to sit on the bed...something to do with the fan if I am not wrong...right Get Real?
