A squadron of 6 Hind MI35 just flew over my house headed for the parade… quite an experience having them flying over you let alone firing… :shock: :lol:

For those of you interested but unable to attend the National Guard parade I'll post a link to the youtube video once its uploaded.


No sooner did I type this when a squadron of SA-342L1 Gazelles just flew over... :? :lol:

Good luck to them all :D ... but I cannot appreciate aerial displays not even nonthreatening aerobatic displays :?

I was not aware the the Cypriot National Guard use the Double -headed eagle as an emblem.

Now comes another lecture. :lol: :lol:

We've had this discussion before. :roll:

The two headed Eagle represents the Orthodox Church, since the Byzantium. The Russians and various other Balkans also use it. It has historical significance (like the Lion and Unicorn of UK) if not religious significance, to date. The Swiss Army have a red cross I do believe :wink:

I thought it was about time religion and military was out of date.

Are Armenians and Maronites or any other faiths allowed in the National Guard?

It's not about religion. My nephew is Roman Catholic and he has served his military service. Religion was insignificant. His Aussie friend doing Military service at the time was an atheist.
