Paphos is not a town (least of all "shitty") ... it is a city ... nevertheless it has a circular road with which you can by-pass the centre (if you can negotiate our non-congested roads ... a novelty). You can then go through the mountains and around the Akamas to get to Agios Giorgios .... thereby only adding half a day (nothing by sleepy Paphian standards
) to your journey.
