Hi,
This is my first post, and it involves an ad in the current 'Cyprus Weekly'.
The ad can be found in the jobs section and it begins "Part-time assistants wanted!...". It caught my eye and I imagine it may intrigue others too....IT'S A SCAM!.
You send an email and in reply you get this:

I am the Employment Manager {Human Resource} of Costa Coffee, a quality coffee company based in the United Kingdom. The company has been setup in Lambeth, London since 1971 supplying all local caterers, major Italian and American Coffee shops and also around the world with an exhilarating and exciting coffee mix, slow-roasted the Italian way.
Our company has just entered into new contractual agreements with some Firms located in the Cyprus for continuous and large supply of coffee twice every Month. Our new clients in Cyprus according to the agreement shall be making payments for our supplies strictly by secured Bank Transfer/Certified Check.
For effectiveness and efficiency reasons, I have been Charged to recruit, short list and employ an administrative Part-Time Representative/Bookkeeper for the company in Cyprus so as to eliminate the Discomfort we are encountering on payments receipts from our
clients in Cyprus and other European region.

Primarily, what you will be doing for the company is receiving payments from our clients within Cyprus; Get it duly processed in your bank, deduct your salary as at when due, and forward the balance to the company through the company's accountant and strictly according
to the company's instructions.
Therefore, you must be capable of receiving wired funds and Bank deposits through your account from the company's client amongst other duties.
Fill and return the application form below as soon as possible and thereafter you will be notified if short listed and employed for the position.

Here's a report on it:
http://suckerswanted.blogspot.com/2007/03/costa-coffee-exports-impostors.html

Please don't allow anyone to be suckered by this, this kind of crime is on the increase here. Just last week someone used my wife's credit card in Leeds while she was of course here.

Thanks,

Col.
