Breastfeeding Rights

Postby yiannis08 » Tue Sep 30, 2008 10:30 am

As a working mother what rights do I have while I am breastfeeding?
And where can I go for more questions ?

I know I am entitled to leave work an hour earlier until my baby reaches 8 months.

Hello Yiannis :?

You should find all the EU directives you need to support you towards continuing to breastfeed your baby here ....

http://www.iblce-europe.org/Download/Bl ... nglish.pdf

We had a creche facility where I worked, and I used my coffee breaks and lunchtime to continue breastfeeding till my baby was 11 months old ....It's really worth persevering :D Do you have easy access to your baby during your working day?

You could express milk and give it to the baby-minder otherwise. It's a World Health Organisation priority initiative too now, so you should find some assistance from one of the two sources.

Good luck ....
