I know, you did not, and will moan.
I know what you mean. I was in the centre of Limassol during the downpour, and for a while the streets turned into mini rivers. To see all this water just flowing away and going to waste was quite sickening, especially after having spent months bending over backwards to conserve the precious stuff.

It doesn't go to waste Tim ... it replenishes the water table which would have suffered considerably from the drought (and bore-hole consumption). It's of primary importance especially on such a small island otherwise the soil would become too "salty" and the types of plants which can be grown, would have to be altered .... plus other considerations.

It doesn't go to waste if it can get into the soil, agreed. The water I am talking about was in the city centre near the seafront, and sadly will either have run directly into the sea, or indirectly there through the drains.

It was hilarious..... other drivers were slowing down just to stare... we were laughing so much it hurt, especially considering it took an hour to get home, and his arm is going to ache tomorrow...
