Matthew Pyke was found stabbed to death. An unnamed suspect is believed to have had a disagreement with Pyke on a forum that Pyke Moderated.

Police allege that the 21 year old suspect traveled to Nottingham, UK, and gained entry to Pyke's flat where he stabbed the 20 year old student to death. Pyke's body was discovered last Friday by his girlfriend, also a site Moderator.



None of us take things to heart do we?

I suppose that some posts make some of us seethe, though not to the point of wanting to stalk and attack a fellow forumer surely!

Even if I am maddened/upset by a thread, I tend to let it go and start afresh the next day.

Even if I am maddened/upset by a thread, I tend to let it go and start afresh the next day.

I find it relatively easy to detach the "person" from what they say in an isolated post, and react to each post according to what it says be it serious or a joke. It's all about exercising the mind after all and acquiring some knowledge, on the rare occasions someone comes up with a nugget.

But I can see that if someone is unstable in the first place, or extremely young, they may suffer esteem problems, and then it's not unheard of that they react to those emotions.

Personally I like being challenged so I don't have a problem with whatever is said, so long as it's not puerile, trash.
