Paphitis do come back !

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Paphitis do come back !

Postby miltiades » Sat Sep 27, 2008 5:33 pm

I'm making this appeal and I sincerely hope that Paphitis will reconsider his decision to quit and return to the forum. We have disagreed on the right formula needed to push forward a resolution to the Cyprus problem. I have used colourful language in condemning what I consider and still do the irresponsible approach which considers war as being an option in resolving the Cyprob. A political war is our best weapon not only for G/Cs but also for the average T/C who considers this island as his country and not necessarily the part of Cyprus that is under foreign occupation.
I have never changed my position on the Cyprus problem , Im commited in supporting all efforts by our government in conjunction with those efforts made by the EU , on whose land the foreign occupying troops are based.
Paphitis has also been rude to me . He is a 34 year old man , same age as my son , he , on numerous occasions called me ignorant , stupid and other such uncomplimentary names.I responded accordingly as I always did and always will. I have on at least half a dozen occasions offered my hand both to him and GR , both of whom declined , what message are they sending to the propagandists ?

I reiterate my ambition that one day a Pancyprian party would elect as its leader a T/C and that the people of Cyprus will vote , as we do in the UK , for the party , and that a T/C leader emerges as the president of Cyprus commited totaly to Cyprus and all of its people . Some say its a dream , maybe , but I still fondly cherish the day that my island comes to maturity and its people embrace this island and not some foreign country.

Paphitis , we have a lot in common not least the fact that your roots are close to mine in dear old Paphos.
Lets shake hands , please come back , I'm already missing you , don't make me feel responsible for your departure , I have a tendency to feel bad about such events.

VP , the two us , you and I , have had many a battle , in spite of our differences I'm pleased that you are still on the forum and still exercising your democratic right to express your views regardless of how flawed those views are.
I can even say , hand on my heart , that I do like you , some times , I bear no animosity towards you and I do sincerely hope that in time you will see the light and that the future of this island depends ENTIRELY on a negotiating process based on good will and cooperation between our people. Telling your children that the ROC is to you , a foreign nation and not the country of your birth is a pity , believing it as you do is a tragedy .

Let's hope he does come back.

The recent poll served to highlight how few GCs we actually have on the forum. I would not be surprised if there were more Turk-TCs posting regularly, than GCs.

Add to that some of the "trnc" Brits, and a further few more Brits who are anti-GC (chastisement for us "shedding" colonialism  ), and there are very few people trying to debate the Cyprus problem, from a GC point of view.

As well as that, the few GCs there are, being typical GCs, means they all have different takes on the situation ... unlike the TCs who are basically Turkish, all with the same message, albeit it diluted to varying degrees. (Kikapu has transcended Turkishness and is just a liberal human of earthly ethnicity).

So we need the whole gamut of GC representation, which means way more GCs than we have now.

Some below the belt comments need to be dropped altogether. In particular, telling someone they have no right to offer an opinion because they were born elsewhere, is like taking away Human Rights from someone for having a congenital defect .... morally wrong because it's not through choice!

So have a rest Paphitis :D and come back for our sakes .... bring back Boomerang too, as he should have cooled off by now

You are wrong, most "votes" given to me came from G/Cs , unlike those numerous Oracle votes , GR votes and Mr Roberto who signed on his entire family in support.
Most people support a sensible approach to a very serious matter , so should you Mad...am Scientist .

I do hope Paphitis comes back with his own ideas not those taken from GR and you !!
So , Im still here O, will have to figure anither way to get rid of me , GR suggested we have a poll , another bloody poll , asking forumers which of the two is the youngest , Miltiades or GR
I will still win

Unlike one damnable point of view in a post above I don't care what Paphiti's views were on various matters. I don't think it matters what his views were or whether others and I agreed or didn't agree with them.

The important thing was that he had views and I want to hear them. No one here should be bullied in to silence nor should they gag themselves. Once you sign on, in my humble view, it's for the duration, no logging out and walking off in to the sunset.

... and anyway who's going to fight the corner for that funny District over in the west near Crete if P's not around?

Come back mate/matess cos I thought the sons of Paphos District were made of sterner and stronger stuff than this.

Miltiades

I for one cannot see any reference in the above post which refers to the recent poll.

I assume your Mr Roberto comments are aimed at myself (maybe you could not remember the name)

Well let me tell you I did not vote as I said at the beginnng of the poll I was waiting till I had the views of both candidates before voting .

My son JonB who recently registered is 23 years old and has a mind of his own,,, If I told him to vote for Paphitis he would probably vote for yourself... Whether he voted or not I do not know??

My wife who has also registered ..and I think as a Cypriot born lady she has every right to.....Has not actually been on forum yet so she would not have voted.

To cut a long story short , had I wanted I could probably have got the support of all my workers to register and vote, Now that would have affected the outcome.

I think you are upset because you did not get the 'landslide' support you envisaged.

Do not look to others to blame for this least of all me!!!

Fully agree with Bills above comments
