The solutio for Cyprus' occupation will take place in the near future and it will be based on the UN resolutions but also within the parameters of EU laws and regulations unless of-course they want to continue herding sheep on the side on Pendathaktilos. EU passports and ID cads do not show religion on ethnicity, if they are going to be part of Europe they have to give up on the notion of Turkishness they like other Cypriots will have to have an ID card that says Cypriot. If they are ready to accept that we may be a ble to move forward otherwise they can sit back and wit for the miracle.

Turkey is getting despaerate to access EU fund she wants to be part of Europe, Europe is getting tough on occupation of its territory and they will not allow Turkey EU membership til she gets the hll out of our country.

Freedom is nearing ans the TC's need to face the reality. They are either Turks or Cypriots.

On that note Christofias will need to make allowance on property issue. And many refugees will accept a fair solution to that problem. The problem is will the TC's who came from the free areas will they agree to their properties by the sea in Paphos lemesos and Larnaca go in exchange for somthing in the occupied areas.

TCs passed that bridge a long time ago and many have exchanged property in the south for land in the north all that will be left is the accounting of difference in value of the 2 properties.

As for the overall solution never forget we are also and equal weight to yours whos YES is necessary to move things forward just like GCs if we feel a solution will make thing worse for us we will not hesitate in saying NO.

There have been no land exchanges ... you are living in an illegally occupied stolen part of Cyprus and no lies will let you off.

What is more important is that your lies are now coming to the point of recognition which will bring recognition to the TRNC unless they stop......You took our rights and our republic away from us and replaced it with a false republic.....You keep our republic we keep 37% of Cyprus...Fair trade off for crooks like yourselves..Then you can lead them to ENOSIS with your home land of Greece Maria........Long live Oracle!!!

...you guys make me laugh.

zan, relax, they are looking for a Solution, right now. this is the critical moment where our intent should be to succeed, in finding that key which for fifty years has been forged to be perfect. a Cyprus where we, the island dwellers enjoy its beauty, and as its Stewards protecting its Heritance, self-sustaining as Communities, and as Individuals United as one People in this State; Bicommunal.

humanist, respectfully, it sounds like you are picking for a fight, with that first sentence, is that any way to promote dialog? dude everything you said after that is good sense, but lost to those its you who gotta reach out to.

you see, you guys have no choice, Cyprus is an island.

again, in settlement, regarding property, and Jurisdiction, I suggest a long hard look at enclaves, (and the manifesto), for our repopulation, and for all the displaced, at least some as communities, as well as the futuristic consideration for green communities, small footprints, high density living, for rational land use, toward a population that will grow and whose demographics in any case will change drastically, with no frontier which can become a border, so that we can identify the island as a whole as our own, whether "Turkish" or "Greek"; this will define Bizonal, two constituencies madeup of components, and it will allow for the representation of Maronites and Armenians in Assembly, if Cypriots choose to, as communites, where in their territory, they have Jurisdiction to be serving as a Majority, to themselves, to their Minorities.

I can'y relax RW...The thought of losing what little we have in Cyprus makes me have palpitations. Really!!!!

I have told you what I think about "Enclaves". Hate the very idea. Indian reservations, council estates, no go areas, wagons circling, lost pride, lost people are some of the things that come to mind. I much prefer the two distinct states where a people can make their mark as a whole, equal in status and friendly neighbours. I see nothing wrong with that if we achieve mutual respect. Your plan relies on that just as much as mine.

...however Cyprus will be torn in two. neither of us will ever be able to say this is my island. and with its Heritance, what is it worth to say, "this is my land".

no, zan, the position is different, i still believe in people just like us. i do not believe in those that seek an exclusivity, driven by dismissing the needs of others, denying the past, resisting the change which the future brings us, overcoming fear.

zan, have the confidence to believe in your own world, the one you see, and hear , and breath. never mind the others. with things the way they are your views are well founded. on the other hand i ask you to remember that birth is a very ugly event, in any case, stay calm, our reward is yet to come.

call 'enclaves' what you want, it is just a word, and the definition is not at all complete with the way it has been used. to allay your fears, reconsider what a Turkish enclave (and others) near Paphos (and in the south) would give to Cyprus, as a township, having municipal governance as well as that from a National Assembly, in about 90 years the need for a State will become apparent, the population much larger and different, and Cyprus by that time will be a desert, or a respite from the desert ((ie global warming) whether there is peace in the middle east (and africa) or not). dude there must be a demomstration of our committment to living unified for our betterment, and to protect our Rights. not as the children of "Turkey" or/and "Greece", but as people, this island's dwellers, responsible for ourselves, first.

what is right, is what is right. the displaced cannot remain dismissed, i don't think the wrongs amount to much otherwise, they demonstrate how much Freedom costs, we must pay zan, either way, again.

You are asking for a leap of faith RW and I have never made that leap into anything because I don't believe in it. Put facts on the table and I am your man.

The displaced are not dismissed but lets just say side lined..The reality is that most will gladly take the money and stay where they are...The problem is that, because of politics, such large sums have been banded around that people think that they will get more if they create a fuss. This has to change and they have to realise that it is not just Turkey that has to foot the bill but the "RoC" also and Greece too.

I also get angry when I am not included in the numbers of displaced (and thousands like me)...We are dismissed so why not the others...It all seems very one sided don't you think?

The 90 year period you predict for things to settle is also not acceptable. Why should the TCs take a step down the ladder and have to wait for 90 or even 20 years to get back to where they are now.....All that time wondering if they will ever get a say in Cyprus or even have representation.

There is nothing wrong with two states...They may be even two Enclaves....If people are going to mix then they can do it that way. Commerce will see to that. Joint ventures will see to that...A more natural transition rather than the forced one you have in mind.

indeed, zan. however this projection is most hopeful. it is based on making these commitments today. don't forget, i am the person who says that this island's population may grow to twelve million in two hundred years. it will be nice to have chosen for a strong Sovereign State then, today, so that beyond its advent, and into its refinement, (90 years) it will carry credibility, it will have for 'all' of us the same high esteem, all of 'us' will now have the countervailing powers of a plurality of communities to defend our Individual Rights. While beyond this singular identity as a People, as Persons we will share in sustaining our Community as a Majority within a Jurisdiction (being Bizonal), recognising the needs of the Minorities amongst us.

nothing is forced, with enclaves. it is the heart of planning for a rebirth (which may start in less than five years).

For 'our' commerce to thrive, our Free Association must be sustained by a single Rule of Law. In fraternity and for our betterment communally, enclaves allow for "Turks" to compete with "Turks", and "Greeks" to compete with "Greeks" in their respective Assemblies for the attention their own Governance can provide. As Cypriots, and in competition with each other, no one is without, having a choice of service always close at hand. Nothing provides the closure we need with our past, geographically, better than the return of communities, displaced as communities; enclaves provide us an end to this shame.
