TALAT CALLED ON THE GREEK CYPRIOT LEADER TO PROVE HIS WILL

Postby halil » Thu Sep 25, 2008 9:34 pm

President Mehmet Ali Talat has called on the Greek Cypriot Leader Demetris Christofias to prove his will towards a solution in Cyprus.

President Talat said that Mr Christofias – who supported the former Greek Cypriot Leader Papadopulos in wasting the biggest opportunity for a solution – has to prove that he wanted to settle the Cyprus problem.

`Instead of calling on the others to prove their will, he should himself prove his will towards a solution` he said, adding that the Cyprus problem would be solved if the Greek Cypriot leader proved his will.

Reminding that the Turkish Cypriot people proved to the world that they were in support of peace and solution of the Cyprus problem, Mr Talat said that Turkey – which supported the Turkish Cypriot people in their efforts towards a solution – also gave clear support to a settlement.

`We believe we will solve the Cyprus problem if the Greek Cypriot Side starts to move towards a solution and turns its attitude in support of a solution into action`, the President noted.

Your threatning again that the GC's have to bow down to racism, because of your own empty headed ways. Live and let live, its the only way.

Halil , I believe that Turkey which undoubtedly is in charge of the current round of negotiations has to also prove its will as you say. Being the only nation on earth that does not recognise the RoC isn't exactly conducive to the successful outcome of this latest round of negotiations. Furthermore insisting that she is accepted as a guarantor with legal rights of intervention , when the overwhelming majority of Cypriots see her as the occupier , isn't again helpful in reaching a solution.
Turkey has much to do in order to convince not only the Cypriot people but the UE as well as the international community at large that she is committed to peace with justice for all Cypriots and not just for a section of the people.
I , along with the moderate Cypriots , T/Cs and G/Cs would suggest that Turkey abandons her intransigence concerning her guarantorship and agrees that such guarantees are forthcoming from nations such as the EU , and organizations such as NATO or the UN which would be acceptable to the vast majority of Cypriot people .

The ONLY ones that want a solution to the Cyprus Problem are the GCs.

The Turks can quit pretending, because everyone knows they have exactly what the want, and now, they are just set on ruling the rest of Cyprus and finding an in-road to the EU, so that they can control that too .....

Turkish Expansionism is the name of the game ...

Because it doesn't take a genius to realise the Turks are full of road blocks and detours to solve the Cyprob.
