The "what to" in buying a web site.

Postby IasonasCY » Thu Sep 25, 2008 2:44 am

I am interested to buy a web site that is based in Cyprus.
For the time I do not want to mention the name of the site or anything. It is not a static website of a company.

If you want to help me in a way, please inform me about what has a good website has to have and similar info.
Thank you.

You don't "buy" websites like you do with cars or houses… you CREATE them from scratch once you have rented an Internet address and storage space from a web hosting company. The storage space is used to keep the website’s HTML (source code files) and other support files like pictures, audio, video, etc.

I would want to know why he is elling it if it is so good.

To spend more time with his family (probably run's it from home), ill health, leaving the country or it's a white elephant.

Websites are also bought and sold as going concerns, especially ones that earn money.

Aside from a few giants in the US exchanging hands, in Cyprus it’s pretty much unheard of... :?
