For the time I do not want to mention the name of the site or anything. It is not a static website of a company.

If you want to help me in a way, please inform me about what has a good website has to have and similar info.
Thank you.

You don't "buy" websites like you do with cars or houses… you CREATE them from scratch once you have rented an Internet address and storage space from a web hosting company. The storage space is used to keep the website’s HTML (source code files) and other support files like pictures, audio, video, etc.

im not too sure you know what your talking about really.

I own 4 websites and have built websites for other people to buy. I'm also a member of some forums of a website that has been bought and sold like cake.

People do buy websites when the server costs become too much for the original owner and someone more capable takes over [also the revenue built up from the website traffic[google ads etc] is passed onto the new owner etc]

So yea, u can buy websites like cars, just only if someone is selling.

So how did you know what their needs were if you’ve “built” them before finding a customer even? :?

If you already knew a customer’s needs then that falls under the category of “building from scratch” doesn’t it?, whereas we were talking about an EXISTING website being acquired by “new management” so to speak, like a business.

Or are you referring to selling popular (high demand) Internet addresses like some people do?

1000s of websites of all kinds are sold every day ;) It doesn't have to be anything huge. Have a look at this site for example http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/ Iasona you have to give more details about the site if you need any opinions. What is the traffic of the site? Be careful because many people say false info about their traffic. How much money does it make? How much money does it cost for servers etc? How much time you will need to maintain it? If the guy wants to sell it to have more time for his family it means it needs a lot of time so will you be able to put the time that he can't put?! if you have to add content to it do you know how to write content for that topic? In what market is it in? Does it have potential? Many questions!!
