What's a "successful" website? Have you heard of any being bought or sold?

Yes, back in the heady days before the dot com bubble burst, many websites were changing hands, some for phenomenal sums of money. I know for example that the translation website www.aquarius.net, at the time one of the most popular portals among freelance translators for finding work, was sold. The new owners tried to turn it into a fee-based service whereas it was previously free, and everybody went elsewhere.

Ok, and that's Cypriot is it? Sorry I ask, but it's just that I've been in Cyprus IT since 2001 and I haven't heard of any sites being bought or sold so I’m quite curious about this.
