Ahmet Muzaffer Gürkan and Ayhan Hikmet who were butchered by the TMT on the same evening of 23 April 1962. Their crime? To publish a newspaper entitled Cumhuriyet whose editorial policy supported the peaceful coexistence of Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots within the RoC, a message that was anthema to Denktash and his clique.
What was that somebody was telling me about the Denktash regime and press freedom?
I appreciate your dedication to these brave people Tim but you do the GCs a diservice by not remembering those Thousands that fell at the hands of EOKA.....
The book which I was unable to find in Northern Cyprus, entitled "TMT'nin Kurbanlari"/"The Victims of the TMT", only lists eight people murdered, (According to the review).
