Online CyProb Debaters Community (OCDC) - Elections Results

Results:

The OCDC election ended at 12.00 midnight on the 29-09-2008 with the following results…

President : Oracle 12 votes
Vice President : Viewpoint 5 votes
Ombudsman : Get Real! 3 votes

NB: Taking into consideration that Deniz made an early withdrawal although being in a favorable position to attain the Presidency, and Zan making an early withdrawal although being in a favorable position to attain that of the Ombudsman. All other early withdrawals from the election did not have any effect on the election’s result.

Complaints:

Two or three people complained about the election not being democratic, or valid, or whatever else, but none of them believed in their claim enough to initiate a democratic poll to prove their point so the election remains unchallenged and its results valid.

The election’s process could be criticized for not accommodating abstentions but the sheer number of voters (50+ votes being a very typical poll “turnout” for this forum) tells us that any abstentions were of a negligible number.

Congratulations:

Congratulations to the first OCDC President Oracle, and the remaining two candidates for their success who may henceforth carry the corresponding title in their taglines if they wish…

Online CyProb Debaters Community (OCDC) – Vice President
Online CyProb Debaters Community (OCDC) – Ombudsman

…and may carry the OCDC insignia avatars (which T_C was meant to design but has disappeared… :? ).

All candidates will be contacted soon with a formal description of their powers and duties and henceforth, any further OCDC rules and regulations issued will have the approval of the President and Vice President. Thank you all for participating and that’s all for now!

Perhaps we can break a record here ....

(CBS) Last Saturday, Dick Cheney was President of the United States for two hours and fifteen minutes. He got this position without controversy, without spending a dime campaigning, and without the Supreme Court making a dubious ruling.

President Bush invoked the 25th Amendment making Cheney the temporary President while Mr. Bush underwent a routine colonoscopy
