Because the south has extradition treaties with the UK ,and the north hasn't :D
Not quite true, a few criminals have been extradited, the last was someone in Maugsa, who dealt in contaminated meat on a large scale, truth be told theres undesirables both sides, its not what you know springs to mind.In fact they are being rather clever about it, by extraditing crims from the North, the receiving country, has to note that they've been extradited from the TRNC(which those on the dark side)say doesn't exist(figure that one out if you can).ECHR have refered to the TRNC too, the lies are crumbling, the lies are crumbling..........

The reality is that there are some people on this planet who have no ethics and integrity, so they go and buy property in an occupied area because there is a short term gain for themselves and in this case the British are capoitalising on the sufrage of 200,000 refugees and 800,000 Cypriots whose rights have been violated by an occupation regime, that controls the fate of 55,000 people it is supposed to be protecting.

I could go as far as saying, "Ask a silly question and ..."

`Tim ``do you or indeed any other member know the scale of the illegal selling on other's land in the Occupied North to GB ex-pats. How many properties are involved? I've never seen a ref to the numbers involved.

There are about 5,000 British citizens in the north, not counting British TC's, which may be in the thousands, which some has also bought stolen GC properties, the Morally Corrupted. You will find, that the "trnc" likes to brag that there are 10,000 British living in the north, but this also includes British TC's. It is a good PR propaganda to lure more Brits to come and corrupt themselves by buying more stolen GC properties, and eventually lose their investments when a settlement comes along. But since Britain has signed the memorandum with the RoC for keeping the island intact and that they will not recognise the north, the "trnc" has turned on the Brits, atleast according to "roseandchan".

As the saying goes, "If you can't fuck a friend, who can you fuck".??

The Brits are beginning to find out, that their acceptance to become Morally Corrupted to help the "trnc" in the PR propaganda has outlived it's usefulness, and now have become expendable themselves..

Utter bullshit as usual but what excuses are you going to make for their treatment in the RoC" I wonder. The so called "Free areas"...

I am a British permanent resident of the free areas of Cyprus and I have no complaints, thank you.

How many like you in the TRNC then Tim.....Lets get some balance here shall we. Thousands are complaining about title deeds in the so called "Free areas" and complaining about corrupt builders and unclear rules and regulations.......Same as in the TRNC......Am I wrong.

why don't you fess up about where you live dogankoy. wasn't that all greek cypriot before 1974?

yes from what i hear lots of expats in the north are looking to leave. a combination of worries re the property situation and the way the trnc gov has been treating the expats in the last few months.
yes lots of expats are moaning about title deed ect but it seems that title deeds are taking longer to obtain in the south than the north.

Delays in the issuing of title deeds are a problem here in the south, yes. I bought a new flat in January 2005 and am still waiting. The final certificate of completion has been issued by the municipality and a stamped copy of the contract is with the land registry office. It is a nuisance to have to wait so long, but it is all legitmate and the wheels are bureaucracy are slowly turning. It is only a matter of time.
The developer of our project is also the long-term owner of the plot on which the flats were built. He is from one of the old families from Agios Athanasios, which was a 100% Greek Cypriot village in the days before it became a suburb of Limassol. I don't lose any sleep.
