Turkey is an unrepentant and unpunished perpetrator of Genocide. Don't give us the "it was the Ottomans" BS. The founding fathers of Turkey were "builders" of a "Turkey for the Turks". And we once again saw the true face of this Turkish ruling elite during World War 2 when they forced Greeks, Armenians and Jews into labour battalions. In the previous World War, it was safer to be an infantryman in the front lines of Gallipoli than being a Christian in a Turkish labour battalion. Why are Greeks and Armenians in labour battalions during WW2 ? WHY?? Invasion of the Soviet Union a few days after the Turko-German friendship treaty. And moving Turkish troops to the Soviet border to finish off what your ruling elite started in 1915. This is only a few years after Turks genocided the Kurds of Dersim and threatened, cheated and subsequently stole Hatay from it's non-Turk majority. Yes, once again we saw the true face of the Turkish ruling elite.

Turkish Cypriots need guarantees ? OK. Go find a guarantor who does not have a history of GENOCIDE.
Turkish Cypriots need protection ? OK. Go find a protector who does not have a history of GENOCIDE.

I was going to suggest your shamelessly hyprocritical Pakistani brothers but they are, apparently, guilty of modern day Genocide too.

Cymart, we would kiss the feet of any one that throws an atom bomb on Turkey. If, for example, America were to bomb Ankara, we would become the best friends of the "killers of the people".

We are obsessed with Turkey and this has little to do with 1974. For centuries we have being taught that Turkey is the eternal enemy of Hellenism and that until this nation is defeated and humiliated we will never see a bright day. When we feel weak to pursue the dream of annihilating Turkey, we look for others to fight our war. Russia fits nicely at the moment and the stage is set with the cold war showing its head again. In 1974, Papaioannou was assuring the bananiots that Turkey would not dare intervene in Cyprus because the Soviet fleet was lurking just north of Kyrenia! Of course, in 1964 and 1967 it was the imperialists that saved our neck and instead of thanking them and learning our lesson, we tried to blackmail them that we would turn towards the Soviet block and the nonaligned.

Some people never learn Cymart but of course we all suffer collectively because we do not tell them to pack it in and stop living in the past.
