You say that now but I'm sure you'll be the first to organize 'EOKA-@' should you not agree with the new leaders.

2. I think the vice-president should be selected by the president himself.

Replacement of President: 51% successful challenge via a poll.

???

OK, how about the 2nd most popular becomes ombudsman and the VP gets chosen by the President.

I think it would be a mistake to let the elected President choose the VP since he would most likely choose a friend/ally similar to himself .... e.g. if Zan was elected he would choose Viewpoint perhaps .... and then we will end up akin to a dictatorship of generals....

The one with the second highest votes should be VP; and the third highest, the ombudsman ....

(Not that I care .... 8) )

very good OP, just the fact that it is based on polls means that the three positions are best filled by the candidates within the poll (of members), especially with a wider choice of candidates to choose from.

if we are to have a President, it is hopeful because it may lead to our debates being qualified, in a manner where in our conclusions the observations sustain a credible relevance, which may be helpful to others.

however, a President governs, and this Jurisdiction should be limited to a State, not this one we call Cyprus Problem which is for open discussion without any 'normal' limitation to free speach, another, like a Legislature, where there are parties, and independant representation, and rules like speaking demands a vote, as such in some threads a speaker, relevance and an objective. these are keys to leaders who see and who can act in mobilising his/her constituency within these threads.

'Cyprus Problem' remains what it is to all of us, in essence it becomes committee rooms for the members making representations in 'the other' topic heading where they have the opportunity to sound out their observations before committing to 'this' debate (and a vote). It will allow these members who choose to, to have a 'Public' life, while as a member of this Forum, the same opportunities, as any other 'Private' member.

i won't vote in a chicken fight, i won't speak if them's the rules, but i will most likely continue to be vigilant against the efforts which corrode Principals that are basic to Human existence,

...like you OP, at this point, just trying to be helpful .
