No Oracle, we want a democratic system here.

Deniz, if Kafenes agrees then he neds to find a running mate and stand for office.
I nearly suggested Halil, but htere will be plenty unjustified opposition to this. Who else.....Hmmmm..................................................................................................................................................................................................................Ah, yes......... no he wont do............... :?

Think you and Kafenes will make an excellent ticket.

What has 1000 posts got to do with it? Volume of posts indicates intelligence or just the inabilty to shut up?

Do not misunderstand me, I agree with the premise, it is just how you will elect a president and a vice president.

Is it only open to Cypriots (G, T, M or A (and the rest now))?

Can settlers get involved (including me as a Brit who has been here since 1975 and only didn't get Cypriot Nationality because it is too much hassle)?

Lay down the rules and let's play the game.

I think Miltiades would make an excellent representative for the TC members.

Ok lets make this real simple.

ANYONE WHO IS A MEMBER OF THIS FORUM AND HAS 1000 POSTS OR MORE CAN STAND FOR OFFICE. ANYONE MEANS CYPRIOT ENGLISH AMERICAN MARTIAN ETC...

The 1000 posts are just to make sure that you have a little experience with the forum and that other member sknow who you are and what you may stand for.

I hate politics. Besides, Oracle and Bubbles will be on my case all the time.

What about Eliko. Then he will be in and out like a flash.

D.T.,

Some people have been on the forum for ages and not made 1000 posts, others join and post loads of BS in a short period of time.

Perhaps it should be on length of membership (not member!)?

Thats an excellent idea. 1000 posts or have been on the forum for at least 1 year.

Right the rules and regs are done. There will be a manifesto published soon with the Responsibilities of the future Presidente and Vice Presidente which means

WE ARE NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS TO ACCEPT CANDIDATE TICKETS. THIS WILL END ON MIDNIGHT 25TH SEPTEMBER. PLEASE POST ALL CANDIDATE TICKETS ON THIS THREAD BEFORE THEN AS WE WISH TO KEEP THIS AS TRANSPARENT AS POSSIBLE.

REMEMBER YOU HAVE TILL 11:59PM 25TH SEP 2008

I think you are right. It shouldn't be decided on the 'length of the member'.
