Cyprus is Cypriot. I am proud of my Greek ethnic background and culture but Cyprus is Cypriot.

Not too clear is it DT......No wonder I missed it.....Define please....Is cyprus the one with the Greek flag over it and the Greek national anthem and all those tourist guides that do not mention the TCs as part and parcel of the partnership in Cyprus......No more cop outs...Define!!!!!

I don't have to define anything to you, you hypocrite of the highest order.

You talk of Greek flags when you've painted the entire mountain of Pendadaktylos in your gruesome Pac-Man image. You talk of tourist guides not mentioning the TC's when you've WIPED OUT 1/3 of the islands population from their land and homes, re-named their villages after Turkish murderers and Greek killers and hold the island to ransom with 40,000 troops.

The entire world see's you for what you are Zan. A spoilt child who has not stolen enough from the Greek Cypriots and now demands more!

I didn't think so..  We don't say we represent the whole of Cyprus...you do......Cypriot my arse....Come on DT...say it...Cyprus is Greek......TO YOU 8)

Still waiting!!!!

Cows coming home Zan. You tell me what gives you the right to claim 1/3 of the island as purely Turkish!!!

I have no trouble in answering that and have done for many years......Because of your Greek aspiration for my people. We had the chance to build a new Cyprus in which all races and creeds were to be respected and allowed the right of self determination but hundreds of years of oppression under the dream of ENOSIS and how to achieve it resulted in the partition of my island. The one deciding factor. It is that and your desire to dominate that has forced the Cypriot flag to be meaningless and tow other flags to represent two people that are moving more and more apart from the Cyprus Republic. you have set up the "RoC" that has no relevance to the original and so have we......My right is just there.....What gives you the right and not me. The island has been divided along the lines of the original constitution that you have not honoured. We still talk of unification but you prefer your fait accompli of 1964. It ain't gonna happen.

Now perhaps we can get an answer from you as to whether you see Cyprus as a Greek Cyprus or are you prepared to share as per the original constitution or along those lines.....70-30

Your whole argument falls flat on it's face when you claim that you know who was on the island when the Greeks came....Nobody knows that for sure and you claiming it just goes to show what a lier and a hypocrite you are.

We know quite well what was here before. Just some small separate settlements in a few parts of Cyprus. We are talking about 1500BC here. At that time the population of the world was about 165 times less than it is now. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population ) The total population of Cyprus at that time would be no more the 4-5 thousand people, the equivalent of an average sized village today. I think you fail to fathom how early that is.

The essence of my post, that you missed or ignored more like, is what you have done since your arrival on the island. You have tried to strangle other settlers, of which you are only one, out of existence. You are like a leach on the land and you suck the life out of everything that is not Greek. That is what you call democracy. In the event that YOUR democracy was ever threatened by a population you used force and persecution to eradicate it from the island..That is the very nature of your so called democracy.

Any proof of the crap you are saying here? The essence of your post is that you can imagine whatever you want. The former ruler was usually annihilated by the next one. This is what the Turks did in the case of the Latins. Are you going to blame us for this now?

The fall of Famagusta marked the beginning of the Ottoman period in Cyprus. Two months later, the naval forces of the Holy League, composed mainly of Venetian, Spanish, and papal ships under the command of Don John of Austria, defeated the Turkish fleet at Lepanto in one of the decisive battles of world history. The victory over the Turks, however, came too late to help Cyprus, and the island remained under Ottoman rule for the next three centuries.

The former foreign elite was destroyed--its members killed, carried away as captives, or exiled.

You are still trying to do it through lies and deception as to the origins and purity of the Cypriot race. You are a disgrace to that race and clearly the reason for partition and conflict with your dreams of uniting with a country that only has a language as a reference. I then have no choice but to ally with people that have a similar reference with me. The democracy that you try to sell to the world seems to have an ever changing face that you alone want to control at the expense of other Cypriots homes and lives.......You are a hypocrite mate and a lier propagandist to boot!!!!!

First of all I never talked about any "purity of Cypriot race". There is no such thing as a "pure race" anywhere in the world. Here I am talking about the native Cypriot people who for 1000s of years speak the Greek language, have a Greek religion (first the Olympus Gods and the Greek Orthodoxy) and a Greek culture, and who have been denied their freedom and self-determination by foreign rulers who imposed and continue to impose their will over our island by brute force and blackmail.

As I already told you I don't want to control anybody else. What we want to control is our own island, democratically one person one vote, just like democracy should be (and you as a Cypriot citizen can have your vote as well). Who wanted and continue to want to control our island by force and blackmail is none else than the Turks who came to our island exactly with the aim to dominate us and rule our island against our will. The only thing that the native Cypriot people want is freedom and to rule their own island. Nothing more.

Thank you! The ancient Cypriots... :D ...and if it were not for their presence on Cyprus, the ancient Greeks would've never set foot here as there wouldn't have been anyone to trade with!

The ancient Cypriots were derived from the same Achaean stock ( 3rd Millennium BC) which branched out to Cyprus and Mycenae (pre Homer's Iliad) and settled both in the Peloponnese and Cyprus. Thus the Peloponnesian Mycenaeans had well established links with their Ancient (Achaean) Cypriot brothers (also explains how they knew there were friendly people to trade with ... early nepotism  )

Both ancient Cypriots and Peloponnesian Mycenaeans were from one stock ... The Achaean. There were not enough people in those times to have come from two different stocks, yet live so close to each other. :D

The first Greeks in Cyprus are also among the ancient Cypriots. Unless you will claim that the only "ancient Cypriots" are those 300-600 people that inhabited a single village (Chirokitia) and who disappeared at 6000BC and anybody after them is not an "ancient Cypriot".

The ancient Greeks were among the first people to first inhabit many areas of Cyprus which was mostly uninhabited when they arrived. The Greeks traded via the sea, they didn't depend on trade within Cyprus. In fact even trade between the Cypriot cities was probably done by sea anyways since there were no road networks back then. (In fact even until about a century ago it was still easier and faster to move between Limassol and Paphos by sea instead of using a road)
