Thank you for your concern for the reputations of my self and Paphitis.
I called this null and void when I realised , at 4 votes up , that there was "irregular "voting taking please , not least appeals on other forums soliciting "votes" from known extremists and of course on realizing that even you , who is so concerned about the reputations of the two participants , enlisted the help of your son and wife in order to enhance one members reputation.!!! As you see Richard I'm a man of principles and when I have an inkling that someone is trespassing on my integrity then I react , this poll was specifically requesting members of the CF to vote on the "constructiveness" of views on the Cyprus issue between two members. Having seen the "defunct " voters appearing on the forum , ie FLODA and Dinos Skaliotis , and others , and of course seeing that you solicited your entire family's support , then I called it null and void .

Today there have been in excess of 25 new registrations , just wondered if this is normal , I started noting since 1 pm . We are indeed a very popular forum to attract 25 plus new registrations , I wonder who they are since only one , JONB actually posted anything.

What you see are accounts generated automatically by bots or manually by spammers. Most of them register just to have their profile details, which include URLs to porn and other such websites, listed on our forum. Unfortunately for them I have modified the forum software so that their profiles and those URLs are shown nowhere and therefore they do not receive the benefit they hoped for. In a future upgrade of the forum I will make it more difficult for bots to register new accounts. Dealing with spammers that manually create accounts is not as easy though.

I am doing my best to keep the forum spam free and this is why you will almost never see posts by spammers littering the forum.

denizaksulu, the passwords are issued automatically by the forum software and not by me. This is why you receive them immediately after you fill in the "Send me a new password" form. The auto generated passwords are in that form because that form is the hardest to be guessed. It is not advised to use a dictionary word or a name as a password.

Spammers can use software applications called ‘bots’ to automatically register on forums like this.

The advantage to them is that they are then added to the members list and have links in their signatures to porn sites, etc. In that way, when the sites is inspected by the likes of google these porn sites are also included.

However, on this site the members list is not publicly available and the Admin take care to vet all new members and delete those that are not real people so you are quite safe.

I have promised to leave CF if I lose. I will leave as I will not go back on my word.

There hasn’t been any evidence so far that anyone cheated like the last time when the poll SPECIFICALLY asked “only GCs should vote” and we caught a TC voting in the morning hours! That was irrefutable evidence of “rigging” but there’s no such thing so far this time, and with the blessings of admin.
