nothing is clear now Umit .

Now we have black out for news . we had this information from UN's web page saying as follows.

UN-backed talks on reunification of Cyprus to resume next month

18 September 2008 – The Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders today continued their United Nations-backed negotiations aimed at reunifying the island of Cyprus and announced plans to resume the talks next month.

Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat – who began their full-fledged negotiations last week – discussed the issues of governance and power sharing today, UN spokesperson Marie Okabe said.

The two leaders agreed to resume talks, which are being held in the UN Protected Area in Nicosia, on both questions on 8 October as part of their efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement on the Mediterranean island.

In May, Mr. Christofias and Mr. Talat committed to a partnership that will comprise a Federal Government with a single international identity, along with a Turkish Cypriot Constituent State and a Greek Cypriot Constituent State, which will be of equal status.

The UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) has been in place on the island since 1964 after the outbreak of inter-communal violence. It is tasked with preventing a recurrence of fighting, contributing to a return to normal conditions and the maintenance of law and order.

But funny things are happened before they started to talks .
Christofias said Talat accepts one thing inside and proclaims another outside .

to answer this Talat said Christofias must look at the mirror first .!

you can read rest of the news from the below link. for none Turkish speakers i am sorry link is in Turkish.

Zan ,
how was the news from bayrak international :
not mentioned about what Christofias said before the meeting . But we read many things from the daily papers . may be they didn't give it at newses not the spoil the atmosphere , it is only my guess .

President Mehmet Ali Talat and the Leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration Demetris Christofias have held a five hour long meeting during which they continued to discuss governance and power sharing.
No statement was issued at the end of yesterday’s meeting which took place behind closed doors.

The next meeting between the two leaders will be held on the 8th of October to continue their discussions on governance and power sharing.
On his return to the Presidential Palace, President Talat said that the meeting resulted in neither deadlock nor great progress.

`Neither could it be called unproductive` he added, explaining that all aspects of the governance and power sharing have not been discussed yet.

Reminding that they would move on to the issue of property after completing discussions on governance and power sharing, the President said that once this issue was exhausted and they moved on to property, it did not necessarily mean agreement would have been reached on the first topic.

`It will just mean that we have discussed all aspects` he said.
Asked to comment on Christofias’ statement that with the current course of negotiations it would not be possible to complete the talks by the end of the year and that even they could last forever, the President said `how hard the Turkish Cypriot Side had worked for the launch and conclusion of the talks is a fact known by the world`.

Stressing that the Turkish Cypriot Side has been doing its best to speed up the process, Mr Talat rejected claims that he said no concessions would be made as from now on and said `all issues are on the table and we are discussing them`.

`Our objective is an early solution. If it moves slowly, the one who claims this, should first look into the mirror`, he noted.
For his part, Mr Christofias said that the discussion on
governance and power-sharing has not been completed yet because there are `some pending issues`.

``We are moving forward but there are some pending issues,`` he said, adding that `executive power` will also be discussed at the next meeting.
Asked about the climate at the meeting, the Greek Cypriot Leader said that ``the meetings always take place in a friendly spirit, regardless of whether we agree or not``.

The two leaders have been continuing their discussions since the 3rd of September with the aim of bring about a comprehensive settlement to the Cyprus problem.

The meetings between the leaders are taking place at a building allocated for the talks at the old Lefkosa Airport in the UN-controlled buffer zone.
I know Kifeas would tell me to get a "reality check", and to stop my "near hysterical" comments ... but I'll go on the basis that he has stopped reading my posts ........ and say that our greatest mistake was to allow the TCs to think we want their opinion on solving the Cyprus Problem in the first place.

Yes maybe the Genie is out of the bottle and we cannot put it back!

But their numbers are in rapid decline, and if we wait another decade, at the present rate they will all be gone ... then we can start afresh with the "Settlers" and treat them properly this time! ... That is, not allow them to expect to be part of the solution-seeking, but just demand our rights by International Law.
the Genie is out of the bottle.....maybe...

On the other hand, judging from your advices above, your genius is definitely out of ..water closet (W.C).

Naturally, with the more and more settlers pouring here each year, and every one of them being "creme de la creme" of their society, they will be most sensitive  to your demands by International Law.

So, let us wait another decade as in "Deka Chronia Kypriaku".
