Talat: Greek Cypriots Need Solution as Much as we do

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

What's in it for the Greek Cypriots Einstein?

…and don't worry about how “bad” they are!

Perfect example.

18% holding the democratic balance of power of the whole nation.

In other words, GCs will have depreciated democratic rights when compared to the TCs.

Is that democracy?

1. You'll get some land back
2. You would have stopped your long dreaded nightmare of partition
3. You'll be able to live and commute freely throughout the entire island
4.You'll get a drastic decrease in Turkish Troops
5.I'll even throw in a Teletubbies DVD for ya

No it does not mean so. Last time you tried to be democratic the outcome was far from it. You have to accept that over 40 years of partition between both communities has changed what is feasible in reality. That is what I am trying to say Bafidi.

Oh gee... you're so kind!

A BBF is partition!

3. You'll be able to live and commute freely throughout the entire island

I can already commute freely but I'm not interested in living in a TC enclave, just as much as a TC won't be interested in living in the GC enclave, under a BBF.

4.You'll get a drastic decrease in Turkish Troops

Gee thanks... as if it makes a difference whether there's 5,000 of them or 35,000 of them! ALL Turkish troops here are illegal!

5.I'll even throw in a Teletubbies DVD for ya

Ok, we've got one incentive so far... :?

I know Kifeas would tell me to get a "reality check", and to stop my "near hysterical" comments ... but I'll go on the basis that he has stopped reading my posts ........ and say that our greatest mistake was to allow the TCs to think we want their opinion on solving the Cyprus Problem in the first place.

Yes maybe the Genie is out of the bottle and we cannot put it back!

But their numbers are in rapid decline, and if we wait another decade, at the present rate they will all be gone ... then we can start afresh with the "Settlers" and treat them properly this time! ... That is, not allow them to expect to be part of the solution-seeking, but just demand our rights by International Law.
