Cyta Vodaphone Mobile Signal In the North

Postby Cyprus Vending » Thu Sep 18, 2008 6:04 pm

Hi ALL

I have been told today that Cyta Vodaphone does NOT work after you get a few miles/KM's out of Nicosia heading North!

Can anyone confirm or advise please?

Probably true, My Turkcell works ok in Nicosia, but out further and no signal, Urban myth is that the signals are blocked by the respective authorities.

mobile antennas don't cover very much. Thats why they need so many of them. It is not like TV and Radio waves.

If I recall correctly, I've sent and received texts to and from UK mobiles but not sure about Cyprus numbers. We were probably told a few years ago that the signal was blocked. More than likely, it's because there are no Cyta antennas in the North....

This can be solve very easily by just letting to do roaming between 2 sides.

what they thinks if we do this its means recognitions ... it is very funny .
it is only humanitarian need .

think , many peoples are passing everyday from south to north , from north to south .... they might need to talk their doctor but they can not do it , very silly .... for a good will they should start from this communication issue first without delay .... politcs .... politcs ....
