Good Aul Football

Postby norn_iron » Thu Sep 18, 2008 12:57 pm

Hey

I shall be in Cyprus between 24th Sept & 1st Oct and being a football fan (and missing a few of my home local teams games) I was looking to find out what matches are on that I could possibly go to. I'll be staying in the Protaras area but don't mind a wee trip to see a good game. What do you all recommend to satisfy my football hunger?

Think they're postponing it so that UEFA doesn't lose all the Kotchinohorkatous tv viewers.

Oops, I do apologise, albeit that sounds like a good match to go to I've just checked and my flight leaves that morning. Are there any matches on Saturday 27th September?

The best game on the 27th is AEL - Anorthosis in Limassol. No other major games on that day.

Thanks Sotos. Could I ask whether this game is pay at the gate or an all ticket game? What are the admission prices for Cypriot league games? What kind of crowds do these games get?

You can pay at the gate. I don't know about prices because I haven't been to such games for long time. The crowds are different kinds of people from decent to hooligans.

I mean do these matches get 500, 1000, 2000+ at them. Is football well supported in Cyprus?
