Put some food colouring in it with the pump turned off and you should be able to see where it disappears. It worked for me 15 years ago.

Perhaps this will bring an end to this thread!

If you leave the pump off does it still leak ? If so when you leave it till it stops lleaking it can only be at the water line . Leave it to stand until the level stops and inspect along that line . If you have built in steps it may well be where the top step meets the wall as this is the point that takes the most stress

are there weeds growing in one particular place around the pool(indicates source), is it not just evaporation?, My neighbours pool is in direct sunlight for 11 hours a day, loses about a tonne a day. Is it the pool thats leaking or the balance tank?
