maybe if everyone involved look at themselves as europeans rather than tc or gc this could move forward. A country where all europeans had rights. with european rules and laws. then cyprus would be a european democracy, with the amount of other people here, other than tc's or gc's there would be a balance. the tit for tat attitude between both sides has to stop, unless there is forgiveness how will cyprus ever move on? blaming each other won't help. cyprus needs to put the past behind and learn from previous mistakes for the sake of the future generations.
in the uk tc's and gc's manage to get along. why not here in cyprus?

For starters Cyprus is not the UK, and just adopting the notion that we are all European therefore allowing GCs the freedom to manipulate EU laws to rule Cyprus will not work, we not be left to the mercy of GCs without safeguards and guarantees that will protect our future.

Zan - you started this thread on "vision of a solution" - which makes it all the more staggering that yet again you are disrupting debate with personal insults.

"allowing GCs the freedom to manipulate EU laws "

How would the GCs do that? Have you not heard of the European Commission and the Council of Ministers, or the Eureopean Court and the Europarliament? Are the GCs more capable than Germans, French and the British put together? Can you name any instance of any EU country manipulating EU laws?

Are exaggerating just a little, maybe?

The three guarantor powers should not be involved in reaching a solution. It was the three guarantor powers that made this mess to start with: Greece with its support of Grivas and right-wing Enosist elements, Turkey with it's military forces remaining on the island after the coup failed, and Britain for washing its hands of the entire mess, just so that it could continue its administration of the SBA's.
Any meaningful solution must be at the hands of the Cypriots themselves, and if they request a mediator, then let it be from a neutral country with no 'stake' in Cyprus. A fresh start, and no double-dealing from any of the guarantor powers...
