If thats the case i think it is out of order and rude...
I posted a Turkish article yesterday from Kıbris and Tim translated that because it was to clear up an ongoing thread...
Posting any garbage you find in Turkish and then expecting someone to come and translate it for you is not right (and rude)...
As stated above if you wish to post something do it in English and if its in Turkish do it when you have the English translation!!

I call it garbage cos living in Cyprus we get to hear similar statements from Turkish Army/Navy on every national day ceremony....whats so special about this one?

Sorry about the delay guys.

Here is the gist of Zans article as posted in the TC press.

I only translated (as near as possible) the news item and not any comments. I noticed that a forumer had no news of any visit by the said navy. Here goes.


"During the last week, two warships carrying Navy School Cadets, belonging to the Greek Navy anchored at the Limasol port.

Afterwards the 'Commander' Nikolas Patikios gave a press conference.
Here he stated that he saw Greece and Cyprus as ONE.
He added that the 'tour' to Cyprus was a continuation of the Navy's Aegean 'tour'(of duty.
He also added that these are his personal as well as his vews as a Greek Naval commander (of the fleet), and had no hesitation in saying so.
It was also said that five of his 'crew' were in fact Greek Cypriots."

The paper also added, " If these words were uttered by a Commander of the Turkish Navy, what 'storms' would that bring about? What type of message would that send to the world? What accusations would be levelled (against Turkey), and what scenarios would be writen and finally what 'chaos' would be created."

The article was published on the 30thAugust 2008.

I dont mind Tim verifying the essence of what I attempted to 'translate'.

I am prepared to translate things pro bono that I think may make a contribution towards the process of peace and reconciliation in Cyprus. The thread that Iceman is referring to had me in stitches because the chauvinistic elements on both sides had no idea what to make of it. That's why I was so happy to contribute to it. As you say, I am not intersted in translating "any garbage in Turkish".
